Round 4: A Bullet & A Target
Or should I say a dart & a balloon? For some unknown reason I'm awake at 7:00am. My apartment is already unexplainably hot, so I apologize in advance to those who read this post-game and aren't impressed. With 16 players left in the game, tribes were shuffled and Eduro is no more. Now that we know our new teams I need to write my obligatory confessional about what I think of the members of Nu-Legatu.
AJ - My only concern about AJ on Old-Legatu was how well connected she was with some of the other Season 3 cast members. I like AJ, but so does everyone else... she was telling me about having giggle-fit skype convos with Chase. I think AJ actually got a really bad draw in this tribe shuffle. She's separated from Cassie/Chase and now instead has Ellen who she wasn't saying a ton of nice things about. Because of this, I think AJ is going to stick close to me, and I like that. AJ is also a bit of a liability in tribal challenges; if we start losing I think she could have some heat on her.
Ben - My only convo with Ben had him noting how together we'd make "Benry." Because I often wear a cap backwards when I go out, I could see why he would think I would appreciate being associated with someone douchey like Benry, however that didn't really work for me. I'm sure Ben's fine. I wanna hear his take on the Gloria vote from last round.
Oh Ellen. If this were a real TV show people at home would be playing a drinking game where you'd have to take a drink every time her name was spoken. Everything revolves around her this season, doesn't it? Pre-game I enjoyed Ellen, but I didn't know she was going to have half of the cast in her back pocket. The other half of the cast seems to resent her for her connections. I'm not sure yet how many pro-Ellen vs. anti-Ellen people we have on this tribe, but I'll be going with whatever the majority dictates. Important to note that people claim she has an idol.
Knox - Each vote, I thought Knox was going home, yet he's still here. Rumor has it, though, that he was in the minority in this last vote. I plan to exploit this possible Ellen/Knox divide to my advantage. I think I'll get along well with him, which I wasn't really expecting.
Mark - My favorite thing about Mark is that he's playing this game even though his wife doesn't really want him to. Talk about dedication, risking sleeping on the couch for an ORG. I find Mark to be slightly "game-bot ish" but I do see him making a real effort to reach out to me. Is this because he knows Thaigo was talking game with me? At this point I would not find any deal with Mark to seem genuine, but if the numbers fall so that I need to get in with him, I imagine I can work that angle with Thaigo's assistance. I've heard Mark also has an idol.
Thaigo - I'm a little jealous of the 4 Legatu's that went over to the other tribe, because I fully expect to be a lot of unity there. I have Thaigo and AJ... two people I really don't suspect to be all that concerned with keeping the other around. Thaigo of course has Mark now, and I think we'll see how fake he was being on Legatu. He could completely throw me under the bus or he can continue to try and extend out to me a relationship. Thaigo just got WAY more threatening.
Wendy - I still find Wendy to be one of the most frustrating players to play with in an ORG. Firstly, her AIM is always on but she never fucking responds. It's maddening. Secondly, I find her to be terrible in comps so I think she's going to weigh the tribe down. Lastly, she's unpredictable and petty in her attitude, the way she rationalizes, and her strategy. Yet she's still here. At what point does Wendy become as asset because she's so unlikely to win? I hate it, but I'll selflessly keep an open line of communication with Wendy in hopes that she at least won't want me out because I'm the only other Season 2 player standing. Can we trade her out for Emily?
I'll post more thoughts later about how the tribe interacts, but overall I'd say I'm ok with this tribe. I don't think I'll be targeted out of the gate on Nu-Legatu, and I feel like I could go in a couple different directions with alliances. Things should become very clear, I think, over the next 24 hours.
