Week 1
"It's easy to forgive [everything] when you avoid losing." - Henry
"It's still the honeymoon stage and it's sooo fake"- Quincy
"However, this Legatu tribe is full of friendships and love love love. Unfortunately for me..."-Thiago
Right now, Legatu seems to have the most teamwork capability. No majority has formed at all it seems: and it's unlikely a real one will even form ever on this tribe.
Strategic Dynamic
AJ and Cassie are together and a known pair. AJ trusts Chase but Cassie doesn't, while Cassie trusts Colleen but AJ doesn't. Thiago and Henry seem to becoming aware of a possible Season 3 group, and Chase and Colleen don't seem too enthralled by a Season 3 group either. Quincy seems to be in his own little world- but that could change.
Conflicts
-Cassie did not like that Henry volunteered her for a part, which she ended up owning. Henry seems blissfully unaware of the impact of this.
-AJ is coming across a little harsh by running her mouth and being overtly social.
Probable Next Boot
Quincy
AJ
Round One
Allies (Legatu): Cassie, Chase
Friends (Legatu): Henry, Thiago
Allies (External): Michael, Selena
Introspective Points
-Realizes she needs to watch her mouth.
-Is more reluctant to trust people than she was in Season 3.
Overall Second-Person View
-Seen as a huge social threat who is playing too hard too early [N]
-Seen as likable, sweet
My perspective
AJ really is shooting herself in the foot. While she's got friends everywhere, everyone has found her to be disingenuous and she's really created a target for herself. While I think that she has the possibility to recover, and while I do like how self-aware she is about her mouth, I think it's probably too little…too late.
Her Story Summarized: Knowing who to trust (It'll be her ultimate demise I'm sure)
Cassie
Round One
Allies (Legatu): AJ, Colleen
Friends (Legatu): Chase
Allies (External): Michael
Foes (Overall): Henry
Introspective Points
-Wants to embrace her competitive/strategic nature instead of trying to suppress it.
-Doesn't want to be as backstabbing this time around.
Overall Second-Person View
-Clashed with Henry during the Immunity Challenge- Seen as Wrong [N]
-Overall Tone Week 1 [M]
My perspective
I'm actually really liking the fact that, not only is Cassie embracing her reputation and her strengths, but she's not coming into this game fearful of being targeted. She's going balls to the walls. The CPN rating I'm giving her this round reflects her "I'm the boss, take no prisoners' mentality which I love in a contestants. She's combining the best of Ryan and Cassie together.
Her Story Summarized: Be the best version of herself (It'll be her demise or her path to victory)
Colleen
Round One
Allies (Legatu): Cassie
Friends (Legatu): Thiago, Chase
Allies (External): Ellen, Dominic, Ben
Introspective Points
Overall Second-Person View
My perspective
Colleen is going to be under the radar for the beginning of the game. Her story won't pick up until others' have finished.
Her Story Summarized: N/A
Chase
Round One
Allies (Legatu): AJ
Friends (Legatu): Colleen
Allies (External): Mark
Introspective Points
-Knows he's seen as a free agent: wants to embrace it
-Wants to have relationships, not allies- feels the need to distance himself from AJ
Overall Second-Person View
-Very well liked, seen as a dark horse.
-Some don't think he's a good strategist: seem him as doomed [N]
My perspective
Chase is definitely going to be a dark horse in this game. I don't see him going anywhere for a long time, but he's going to really have to figure out how to strategize and not try to take the reigns if he's going to have any longevity. Definitely a positive start based on his positive edit in Season 3.
His Story Summarized: Gain strategic credibility by forging friendships (I can see this conflicting down the road)
Henry
Round One
Allies (Legatu):
Friends (Legatu): Thiago, AJ
Allies (External):
Introspective Points
-Wants to have a better social game this time around.
-Embrace his idol reputation
-Quick to forgive Cassie for the challenge incident- didn't make a fuss about it
-Realizes that Season 3 is sticking together.
Overall Second-Person View
-No one really finds him to "fit in" [N]
-Seems to have pulled a lot of the weight in the challenge
My perspective
It seems as though Henry is really starting to become a lot more aware of his surroundings this season. I like that he's picked up on the Season 3 thing. I really thought he'd be a fish out of water here. My fingers are crossed for him, and he seems to be pulling his weight in the challenges- but his social game isn't holding up to this standard. Definitely a positive force this round to Cassie's negative.
His Story Summarized: Wants to be an approachable and likable person, wants to be able to connect with others
Round One
Allies (Legatu):
Friends (Legatu): Thiago
Allies (External):
Introspective Points
-Realizes he made a lot of mistakes in Season 4 that he wants to rectify
-Very happy to be there, seems ready to play.
-Wants to be more social
Second-Person View
-Seems to be the ideal de-facto boot choice if his team goes to Judgement.
My Perspective
It seems like Quincy could stay around to the swap, and I think if he makes it there he'll shine- but I don't think he'll do so well this season. LIke Henry, he's expressed the need to amplify his social game. An alliance of Quincy/Henry would be incredible- but it seems like that'll only be possible if they win all three immunities. What'll be nice is if one goes and it jumpstarts the other.
His Story Summarized: Rectify past mistakes that have haunted him (he'll either harp on those mistakes like he's kind of doing now and go early, or he'll rectify them and succeed)
Round One
Allies (Legatu):
Friends (Legatu): Colleen
Allies (External): Ellen, Annie
Introspective Points
-Once again, Thiago has completely immersed himself in the strategy.
-Isn't super proud of his win last season, wants to be a "different Thiago"
Second-Person View
-People realize he's a huge threat, but are willingly submitting to his charm.
His Story Summarized: Thiago wants to be "a new Thiago", but old habits die hard. This game isn't about just winning: it's about winning a different way.
